“Come at me Bro!”
Yesterday, Variety announced a sequel may be coming to one of the most best loved Christmas films of all time, It’s A Wonderful Life. Who actually wants this sequel is anyone’s guess.
The film is set to be released in time for the holidays in 2015 (just what 2015 needs, another HUGE movie!), and is at the moment titled It’s A Wonderful Life: The Rest Of The Story. It is being financed by Allen J. Schwalb of Star Partners and he will also produce it alongside Bob Farnsworth of Hummingbird. The script has been written by Farnsworth and Martha Bolton.
Fans of the original movie will be pleased to know that Karolyn Grimes, who played George Bailey’s daughter, Zuzu, has signed on to play an angel in the sequel. She will be around to teach the original George’s unlikable grandson, also named George Bailey, how the world would have been if he had never been born. Nice to see they are using some new ideas this time around.
No word on a director yet, but a budget has been set between $25 and $35 million.
